“It’s called the Waterwise model 1600″ Fresh Water From Any Source, Anywhere! WaterWise brand distillers have a completely portable water distiller that works anywhere. Of course, you need heat to boil the water. That’s why I like this particular distiller. It works, 1) On your stove top 2) Over an open flame or camp fire 3) With the flame from any propane source (like a coleman gas grill uses)
I’ve seen them on ebay selling for 329.00 and I happen to know that Waterwise prohibits the sale of this product by any and all distributors for under 329.00. So if you can find a NEW model 1600 for 329.00 and FREE Shipping, I can promise you that is the lowest price you will find one “Anywhere”!!!
The WaterWise Model 1600The Portalble Water Distiller!
WATER! The single most important item on your “Being Prepared In Case Of Emergency” check list.
With the increase in Hurricane’s, Tornado’s, Floods, well, that’s enough, you get the idea. Anyway, when New Orleans was seiged by flood waters as the result of hurricane Katrina, what was the first thing people were in desperate need of? Water! We here it all of the time on the news, on Oprah, on the radio.. Be sure to always have a few days worth of fresh water, a flashlight, .. and so on. Now, what the heck is there to be said about water? Pretty simple, just buy a few jugs and store them in an area where you can get at them quickly if need be. Also, always carry a gallon or two in your vehicle as well. Also, If you can find glass container’s instead of plastic use the glass container’s for storing. I do not know if the possibility for bacteria is greater in plastic than in glass when stored for long periods of time in fluctuating temperatures, but I use glass because I don’t care for the plastic taste that the water seems to acquire. Now this is easy for me, as bottled distilled water is all I drink anyway, so I’ve always got a couple of fresh gallons handy. Also, there are a few options for portable water purification systems out there that can generate a few gallons of purified water a day varying in price and process from a couple hundred bucks up. I’m actually saving up for a distiller now. I really like the idea of always being able to distill and purify pretty much anything with water in it. I like the idea of the money it will save me as well. My daily water budget right now is at 2.00 a day.
So, I’m basically just sharing with you all my compulsive nature. In other words, when I finally decide to have an emergency survival kit, it has to turn into a life changing scenario of research, acquiring tools and goods, and probably ending up like that couple in the movie “Tremors”. You know the couple that had an arsenal of hi tech weaponry buried beneath (what in comparison was a crappy old out house) what they called home. But believe me, it’s a great feeling to know that should you need to do without many or possibly all of the modern conveniences we have in utilities, food, and water access for a short while that you not at the mercy of those things that are not always within our control.
Until I have some content here that actually has some benefit of information to share with our visitors, I suggest you check out.. waterEnews.com. This site thoroughly covers the different systems of water purification available to the consumer. Including cut-away illustrations and technical drawings, average cost to purchase, average cost to operate, advantages and dis-advantages, and pretty much everything about drinking water there is to know. Until I complete this page with useful content, I’ll say, “Thank you for visiting”.
